Babies Situation:

It was another good day. The girls had a new Nurse, Chrissy, during the day and Sally was back this evening. Dr. Untalan also swung by to see the girls. Of course we had to thank him for allowing Crystal to start the swaddling process. Dr. Untalan has always helped us understand some short term goals for the girls as they have worked through the process - please keep them coming Dr Untalan.

Trinity weighed 3 lbs 4 oz today. She is now getting 5 cc's continuously. Mom gave her a bath again. After the bath, Trinity kept her eyes on Mom the whole time while her little hand embraced Dad's finger. Mom also held Trinity without issue. She usually has 1 Brady during the process but none today - yay.

They are both swaddled so they are pretty comfy in their isolettes. Trinity has to have 1 arm out due to her IV but we hope it will be removed soon. Kinsley looks like a little peanut - so cute. All you can see is her little fuzzy head.

The big news of the day - Dad finally got to hold Kinsley. It was an amazing experience that lasted close to 30 mins. The difference in weight between Trinity and Kinsley is really apparent. Kinsley felt so compact compared to her older Sis. Her right eye was open looking at Mom's smiling face. This was officially the first hold without incidence as Dad held before Mom today - ha.

Kinsley is trying her hardest to get to 3 lbs but came up just short at 2 lbs 15 oz. However, she is feeding higher at 8 cc's continuously so we should see the gap in weight close quickly. Her breathing also needs to improve a bit to catch up with her Sis. She was at 25% with 9 pressure vs her Sis who is at 21% and 8. Keep going girls - you are both doing great.

The girls also got their usual entertainment from Guy and Sally this evening. Laughing is always important.

Parent's Thoughts:

It was a good week and a great way to end the week. Feeds, Holds and Baths - all the normal day-to-day stuff families work through with their babies. We are very thankful for the precious moments we have to interact with the girls in the Nicu. Their progress this week was great - way to go girls. The whole family has now been able to be together - how awesome. We pray the girls can put together 2 consecutive good weeks as it has been a bit of a seesaw over the past few weeks. Thank you Lord for this week and please keep your wonderful blessings coming for the girls in the weeks to come.

Our Daily Encouragement:

The Spirit of God has made me; the breath of the Almighty gives me life.... I am just like you before God; I too have been taken from clay.

Job 33:4,6

  1. Way to go girls! We are so proud of you and your very strong and special parents. We love you all and are thinking about you constantly. Thanks for keeping this blog for us. My parents are also following it and praying for you daily. They can't figure out how to leave any comments so they asked me to let you all know.

One question, what does Kangaroo care entail? Sounds like very special bonding time.

    Sending lots of love,
    Melissa, John, Avery and Camille
