Babies Situation:

The Girls had another bay change today. They are now in a bay with other babies that require oxygen. The bay they were in yesterday was more of a bay for babies that are ready to go home soon. Our babies require a little more attention than the babies in that bay. We have updated measurements on the babies today - both Girls are 3 lbs 14 oz. Trinity is 16.25 inches long while Kinsley is 16 inches long. They are getting big (to us)!!! The only other change made today was Trinity’s feeds increased to 36 cc's over one hour every 3 hours.

Parent's Thoughts:

Now that the Girls are on nasal cannula, we can start working with them to prepare them for bottle feeding. During their tube feedings, a pacifier is supposed to be given to them to start working on their sucking ability. We (our nurses and parents) are performing exercises with the girls supposed to get them ready. As I held Trinity today during her feeding, I tried some of them. She actually did pretty good but did show signs of stress - so I only worked with her for a few minutes. The goal is to introduce a bottle to them in the next two weeks. I think Trinity will be ready but Kinsley might be a few days to a week behind her sister on this one. We’ll have to wait and see.

Our Daily Encouragement:

Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait,I say, on the Lord.

Psalm 27:14
