Babies Situation:

More feedings here we come!! The doctors have increased the babies feedings to 2 cc's/hr continuously!! The higher the feedings, the closer they get to all IV’s/PIC lines being removed which means a lower chance of infections. I did notice that Trinity looked pale yesterday. The nurse and I joked around that as she gets older, she has less of the preemie pink look and more of her parent’s skin color(sorry Trinity, Mommy and Daddy are really pale) but come to find out, she was low on red blood cells and needed to get blood today. Since the PIC line can only be used for antibiotics and fluids, another IV was started. Poor little Trinity. She now has a PIC line and an IV but the next time we see her, she’ll be her pretty pink again. No change on Kinsley except for her feedings.

Parent's Thoughts:

We will have to admit, not a day goes by that the thought of infection creeps into our heads. Just like the blood in the stool, it’s another nightmare we hope not to live. When I wake up in the middle of the night, it’s such a relief that we haven’t gotten a call from the hospital. I thank God every time but I also know that the night is not over. When I wake up in the morning, I thank God again. I actually thank God all day long. Each day we have with our babies is a blessing. With the prongs up their little noses (for the CPAP machine) and the IV’s and PIC lines, the chances of infection are definitely there. We have to keep in mind that all of this is out of our control so there is no reason to worry. God is in control-thankfully. Our neighbor, Pat, reminds us of that when we see him. Thank you Pat, you are a blessing. God is good.

Our Daily Encouragement:

For the Lord shall comfort Zion; he will comfort all her waste places; and he will make her wilderness like Eden, and her desert like the garden of the Lord; Joy and gladness shall be found therein, Thanksgiving, and the voice of melody.

Isaiah 51:3

It's amazing how many people ALL over the place are praying for all of you every day! I am so excited to see such great reports...and to see your faith shared every step of the way. It's awesome :)
