Friday April 3rd

Babies Situation:

Trinity seems to be doing OK after all the fireworks yesterday. She is now known around the NICU for her recent antics of figuring out how to get off of her ventilator. She is an active little one even though she is hooked up to all the lines and tubes. Her feeds increase to 7 cc's but she weighs 1 lb 10 ounces.

The biggest news yet comes when we are told Mom can hold Kinsley for first time. This was completely unplanned as our Doctor informed Trena this morning about the opportunity. It is an amazing situation on how they lift her out of the incubator and prepare her for Kangaroo care. It is a huge step to have the skin to skin contact. Kinsley and Mom enjoyed every minute they could. There was a limit of about 15 mins for the first hold. During the entire hold, Kinsley was still being monitored for her heart and respiratory rates. Kinsley and Mom did great. Her feeds also increased to 8 cc's but she has not showed much weight gain. She still weighs 1 lb 7 ounces (the same as the past few days). More good news comes as we find out there are still no signs of infection for Kinsley from her 2nd spinal.

Parent's Thoughts:

After such a rough day yesterday, we had one of our most rewarding days yet as parents. Mom getting to hold Kinsley was absolutely precious. It was a little scary but such an emotional and beautiful moment.

We were also very fortunate to have our Downtown Pastor, Chad Zunker, of Lake Hills Church, swing by the hospital to pray for the girls and with us. It meant so much to us for him to be there. Another day of being blessed. God is good!!

Our Daily Encouragement:

You have made known to me the path of life: you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand.

Psalm 16:11
