Babies Situation:

It was another exciting day.
The girls had another visitor today, our close friend Tami, who is also a part of our Church Group. It was great to have her meet the little ones.

Mom gave both the girls a soap and water cloth bath tonight - inside their incubators (just slowly rubbing their bodies). I video taped it so it was fun for me too. Mom got to hold both of them up in the air for a couple of minutes while Andrea, their evening Nurse, changed out their bed warmers and linens. Trinity and Kinsley had their eyes open the whole time (see pictures).

Trinity loved her bath but Kinsley took it a little harder and even looked as if she was crying a little bit. Since they are still intubated (on ventilators), we cannot hear any of their sounds. Trinity weighs 2 lbs 3 ounces while Kinsley was still at 1 lb 14 ounces. I guess Kinsley was paying attention to her older sister as she extubated herself today as well. The drill Team was in full force getting her back on the ventilator with more X-Rays and adjustments.

They are still getting their medication for their lungs. To help with the secretion/fluid build up in the lungs they also received chest physiotherapy (CPT). Essentially, it was a small rotating foam cushioned circular oscillator (looks like a floor buffer). Their Respiratory Therapist, tonight it was Richard, slowly moved it around on their backs for about 5 mins. This allows our Nurses to suction out the fluid as necessary to help them breath easier.

Parent's Thoughts:

It was another good day for both the girls and the parents. 2 in row how amazing. We are on a little streak and hope the girls can keep it up. It was so much fun to interact with the girls a bit tonight. Seeing them react to the bath was simply amazing. It felt for a moment that we were and could participate in the process. However, we do not want to get too excited as we do know there could be some challenging times still. We will take it though be very thankful for a couple of consecutive good days. All of your prayers and thoughts out there are working... thank you, thank you, thank you and please keep it up.

Our Daily Encouragement:

Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good. His love endures forever.

Psalm 136:1
