Babies Situation:

Even though they are working through some challenges, I am happy to report that the girls are 5 weeks old today.

Trinity's A's and B's have slowed down so they dropped her CPAP rate from 20 to 15 minimum breaths per minute. This is good news for her breathing. As far as her stomach issues there are still no concrete results of the situation. Our Doctor is adjusting her antibiotics every 8 hours. Her belly still looks really full but feels soft which is good. The good news is our Doctor feels the infection/issue was caught ahead of time. Trinity will most likely have a slow gain of weight until she gets off of TPN/IV and back on her feedings. Tonight she weighed 2 lbs 9 oz.

Mom got to hold Kinsley again today (for 20-30 mins) Kinsley cried when she had to go back in her incubator. Kinsley had some blood work done this morning and it looked good. They also checked for CRP (C Reactive Protein) - an anti inflammatory check. When Andrea assessed her very early in the morning, she thought the top of her belly felt hard so they will be monitoring her now as well. Our nurses listen to their hearts and gastric activity every 3 hours. Kinsley is also improving on her breathing. She is at 24% oxygen with her pressure still at 9 and still no rate. Our Doctor decided to split up her caffeine doses to spread it out over the course of the day as she was burning it off to fast. She is getting 6.7 cc's continuously and now weighs 2 lbs 5 oz.

Parent's Thoughts:

We are so blessed - they are 5 weeks old today. They have been through so much over the past 5 weeks and have fought hard the entire time. We realize there are still many challenges ahead especially with the newest issue this week. We continue to pray that they can develop and progress through whatever they encounter.

Our Daily Encouragement:

You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden... Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.

Matthew 5:14,16
