Babies Situation:
Today has been a challenge for Trinity to say the least. Trinity somehow figured out a way to extubate herself. Essentially, she pulled the ventilator out by her head movements. Our Nurses and Doctors worked fast to get her intubated again (back on the ventilator). However, her breathing and oxygen levels dropped significantly during her down time causing many A's and B's. Her incubator also failed very early in the morning. She had to be quickly moved into a new one. Her arterial line has also been taken out as it no longer was working. With it coming out she will no longer be taking antibiotics. Hopefully she will not need them again as they will have to start a new line.
Kinsley on the other hand watched all the excitement from her own incubator. She is still taking her antibiotics for her infection but there isn't a whole more to report on her. Her feeds have increased to 6 cc's but she still weighs the same.
Parent's Thoughts:
It was a stressful day with lots of questions about what had happened to Trinity. We are very thankful that Trinity received such great, immediate care and pray that God took care of her during the time she needed it most. As parents, it was terrifying to hear of this situation occurring to one of our precious babies. Later in the evening, we continue to pray that God gives the knowledge and direction to our doctors and nurses to ensure our little babies and others in the NICU receive the best care possible. We also ask for strength and peace as parents sitting on the sidelines. It is difficult to deal with these situations when they occur and we need to understand that it is still a process where these things can happen.
Our Daily Encouragement:
If you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, "Move from here to there" and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.
